As the COVID-19 pandemic makes it way across the world, shutting down economies, vulnerable populations bear the greatest brunt of the impact. The impact is particularly dire in a place like Nigeria where more than half the population already live in extreme poverty. For Lagos and Ogun states, the epicenter of the crisis in Nigeria, things are especially difficult because most rely on daily wages to survive. With the shut down, these daily wages are no longer accessible, things are tough, people are hungry and desperate.
We are unable to look away from this situation and have launched the "Elisamama Feeding a Family" Program to provide some relief. Through this program, we will be providing food packs with essential items to feed a family of 5 for a week. Each pack will contain an assortment of the following: rice, beans, gari (dried cassava), instant noodles, tomato paste, vegetable oil, spices and seasonings.
To help extend the reach of this program, we are looking to you for support and to help spread the word. Any contribution you are able to make will go a long way with making a difference and providing some relief during these difficult times.
