Introducing the Elisamama x Charmsie Collaboration

I am overjoyed to introduce you to the Elisamama x Charmsie collection. It’s been an absolute dream to have been given a chance to design these beautiful dresses, and it makes me so happy to finally share them with you!

Ahead of the launch, I would like to share some information to help in making your shopping experience a breeze.

These dresses reflect my fun, upbeat personality with some signature elisamama elements. They are pieces that you will find yourself reaching for over and over, and styling in several ways. They are super versatile for various occasions, whether you’re someone with a jam packed event schedule, or you live for the lowkey cameo vibes. These dresses can take you to Brunch events, Weddings, Showers, Festivals and even on Vacation. I personally love to stunt in them after school drop off when I do a quick Superwoman change in the car *lol*

They are comfortable and figure flattering. As a mom of two, it was important for me to have the options of a looser midsection, and a bust area that can accommodate fluctuating sizes. I have honestly lived in the samples since I received them. Fisayo also shared with me how she wore one of the dresses non-stop on a recent trip to NYC!

Let’s meet the dresses

The Bougainvillea Dress

 

This was the first dress we locked down. The marching orders for the design were fun, flirty, girly and comfortable. I believe we hit all key points. The journey to the fabric selection was a funny one - I spotted it in one of Elisamama’s BTS videos and got curious. I took a screenshot and sent it to Fisayo, who then had her team go to the market to find the fabric! It was love at first sight.

 

The name is a nod to my Caribbean roots with its reminiscence to the vibrant, pink cascading, Bougainvillea flower. Something that I absolutely love about this dress ( that truthfully came as a bit of a surprise during my styling process ) is that it can be worn backwards and it still looks amazing! That’s right, if you prefer more coverage in the front, simply turn it around, for a beautifully smocked bust with a gorgeous open neckline, and a slight keyhole at the back! Dress the Bougainvillea dress up with some heels, pulling from the tones in the dress, or keep it casual with some clogs or tennis shoes! It’s going to be chic no matter what ;)

Sizing: 
The Bougainvillea comes in sizes XS - XXL. The smocking adds additional comfort and flexibility so I do not recommend sizing up. If in between sizes for most brands, I suggest sizing down. There’s no need to size up if pregnant. I typically wear a size medium, but I wear the size small in Elisamama dresses quite comfortably. 

How to care for your dress:
The ultimate low-key dress. You can wash it AND dry it in the dryer (or hang to dry)! I recommend washing on cold and inside out, and tumble-drying on low to keep the colors looking vibrant! As with most Elisamama garments, the material feels better and softer upon washing. I’d go as far as to recommend popping it in the washer and dryer before wearing it!

What is Elisamama’s return policy?
Items may be returned or exchanged within 14 days of receiving. Note that Elisamama does not cover returns as they are a very small business and covering free returns is not feasible at this time!

Can I wear a bra with this? Do I need one?
This is a personal preference! You could rock this dress without a bra but if you need the support, you could wear a bra and play around with securing it under the dress. 

Where can I wear this to?
Weddings, Showers, Festivals, Holiday events and the list goes on. With a quick change of shoes and accessories, this dress can work across a variety of settings!  

Alternative ways of styling this
As shared above, while the dress is designed to have the twist in the front, I discovered that wearing it back to front is also a winner!! You are essentially getting 2 dresses in 1! I love a multi-functional piece! 

Will this work with a bump?
Absolutely! I think you can go with your normal size or go up 1 size.

How tall are you?
I’m 5’9 and it hits me a few inches above the knee. You can see that the material is slightly longer in the back to provide extra coverage to make you feel comfortable! For shorter girls, I still think it would be cute even if it’s a bit longer! I also don’t think it’s too short that it won’t work for someone taller either–we tried to design it to be that perfect length on many different heights!

The Sorrel Dress

 

Unlike the Bougainvillea, the Sorrel took us more time to finalize, but after seeing the final outcome, I knew it was absolutely worth the wait! I wanted a dress that was longer and more refined. This was the “sophisticated sister” *lol* After considering several designs, we locked in on the wrap design, because it’s such a classic silhouette, and flattering on many figures. I love a dramatic sleeve, so I wanted to have some volume, while keeping the rest of the dress pretty sleek. This is a dress that can also work overtime, I already know it will be my Valentine’s Day and Christmas staple!

I named it sorrel because the rich red tones reminded me so much of a Caribbean drink, named Sorrel, that my family loves during the holidays. Another fun fact, you get to match the red dress emoji when you wear it :) You better tag me in those pics so I can see!!

The dress comes in sizes XS - XXL. The wrap allows adjusting to body size, so I do not recommend sizing up. If in between sizes for other brands, I suggest sizing down. There’s no need to size up if pregnant.

How to care for your dress:

Due to the vibrant dyes, please expect some bleed especially upon initial washes but that should diminish over time. I washed separately because of the rich red hues for my initial washes. As with most Elisamama garments, the material feels better and softer upon washing. I’d go as far as to recommend popping it in the washer and dryer before wearing it!

Shipping and Delivery

Given the limited nature of this collection and our effort to be better stewards of the environment, some of the dresses will be ready to ship (within 2-3 days of order) and others made to order. If your size is sold out, select the "Made to Order" option and during check-out, specify your size of choice in the notes section (these would ship within 2 weeks of order).
